Nelly & Nadine is one of only four films nominated for The Grierson Awards in the category Best History Documentary. This section recognizes documentaries on a historical subject with quality, integrity, creativity, originality, and overall excellence.
Established in 1972, the Grierson Awards is among the biggest events in the UK documentary calendar. The awards recognise and celebrate documentaries from Britain and abroad that have made a significant contribution to the genre. The awards commemorate the pioneering Scottish documentary filmmaker John Grierson (1898 – 1972), the man widely regarded as the father of documentary.
The Grierson Awards ceremony will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on London’s Southbank on the evening of Thursday, 9 November.
